The Love Language Test

for Couples

“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18

Fill this out separately from your partner. No peeking. No discussing while you answer.

For each pair, both options may be true — but pick the one that lands a little deeper for you. The one that, if you’re honest, makes you feel most loved. Don’t overthink. Go with your gut.

What now?

Wait for your partner to finish. Don’t share scores yet.

When you’re both done, sit down together and each read your top two love languages out loud. Then let your facilitator (or just the two of you) walk through the processing questions.

Remember: your top language isn’t a demand — it’s a window. You’re showing your spouse the door that opens straight to your heart.

Tip: The saved image includes your results and the 4-round couple discussion guide.

What’s Next · Discuss As A Couple

Set aside about 20 minutes. Sit knee-to-knee. Take one question per round — roughly 5 minutes each. The point isn’t a perfect answer; it’s an honest one.
Round 1 · Discovery
Was your primary love language a surprise to you? Was your spouse’s a surprise to you? Tell each other why.
Round 2 · Naming the Gap
What’s one specific thing your spouse could do in your primary love language that would land deep? Be specific — not “more quality time,” but “a walk after dinner, no phones.”
Round 3 · Repair
Is there a recent moment where you missed your spouse’s love language and didn’t realize it? Name it now. If an apology is owed, offer it.
Round 4 · Commitment
Name one specific action you’ll take this week in your spouse’s primary love language. Say it out loud so your spouse hears it.
